About me

Growing up, I moved around the country and even outside of it because my dad was in the military. I have lived in California, North Carolina, England, Colorado and Florida. I fell in love with singing, dancing, and acting, and went on to study Musical Theater in Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point and received my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts. After college, I worked as an actor around the country. After college, I took a summer job in Italy teaching little Italian kids how to speak English through drama and storytelling. I also worked for a traveling theatre company that traveled from community to community weekly. Each week, we would teach kids aged from 2nd grade-8th grade a show, perform it, pack it all up, and start all over again at a new community.
I spent my middle and high school years babysitting. During college, I performed at a summer resort in Maine while running the afternoon childcare program (20 children, ages 5 - 18). I also spent those summers privately babysitting infants and toddlers. Throughout college, and even now, I have worked at different coffee shops. I LOVE working at coffee shops, so I try to find something like that in any place I move to! After college, I had a consistent morning babysitting job with a little 18-month-old boy. Duties included watching him for 6 hours every weekday. I would wake him in the morning, and prepare and feed him breakfast and lunch. I would also put him down for multiple naps during these times. We’d play when we weren’t eating/napping.
While in New York, I have been an after-school babysitter for a 5-year-old, and an 8-year-old. This job included picking them up from school, providing a snack, providing entertainment, taking them to their after-school activities, taking them to appointments, and bringing them home at the end of the day. I also work at a coffee shop a 10-minute walk from my apartment some mornings and weekends.
Giving children the space to feel and use their imaginations is very important at any age, and I like to include this mindset when spending time with kids.
