About me
Growing up, my family emphasized experiences that broadened my perspective of both the world and myself. As a child, I was lucky to engage in music lessons, hiking, swimming, art exploration, outdoor play, and learning of all kinds. My mother emphasized the importance of exposure to the world, emotional processing, and creation. Because of this, many of these hobbies have remained. I still love to learn in all capacities- through literature, documentaries, art, and photography. I am a mural and abstract artist. I have a background in outdoor education which lends me to a life engaged in the natural world (hiking, swimming, kayaking, yoga, meditation). I care deeply about connecting myself with larger systems, worlds, and communities around me.
I graduated from Syracuse University in 2020 with a BA in Political Science, Geography, and Environment Sustainability and Policy on a Pre-Law path with a focus on American Politics/Democracy and Political Mobilization. This education gave me an interdisciplinary worldview. I became heavily focused on how children play into these systems and how our societies shape and form future generations. Throughout my time in college, I worked in childcare and at after-school programs.
My background after graduation varies in childcare experiences. I have worked as a Kids and Youth Director for ages 0-18; as a nanny and caregiver for multiple families, as a library media specialist at an elementary school, as a camp program director, and as a community volunteer. In all these experiences I have engaged with children with trauma, abuse, poverty, social-emotional disturbances, mental health struggles, and special needs. My in-home childcare experiences are for ages 2-6. In these experiences, I was responsible for activities and engagement, feeding and cleaning, bathing, and all other individual care. The nonprofit program offered a unique care space for families of infants ages 0-4 where I cared for the children's needs through active play, feeding, changing, and nap schedules. In all positions, I apply my own knowledge of creative development. I do my best to meet children where they are at and to encourage them to see themselves in broader spaces.

In 5 years, I hope to be...
In 5 years I hope to have a nonprofit development that is focused on art in urban education spaces. I think the ways that the United States educates people can be seen as bright and white, harsh and clinical. There is so much to offer schools, community buildings, and childcare spaces by mural art. I hope to bridge the gap between funding and creation in public space.
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Art! I love to see how children learn to express themselves when they do not yet have the words to communicate. Seeing them engage with landscapes and different materials is so magical and inspiring. I also love sensory play and outdoor education for all ages. Swimming, walking, gardening, picnicking, painting, reading, and any kind of creation to further develop their sense of self and sense of wonder.
