About me
Hi! My name is Elanna and I’d be thrilled to work with you and your little ones! I’m a born and bred New Yorker who grew up in Astoria, Queens and a NYU Tisch Graduate. I grew up above my family's 80-year-old fabric store with my two younger brothers. As a child, I loved to take advantage of all the arts and culture the city has to offer and would spend my time going to museums and attending Broadway shows. I'm an actor and comedy writer by trade and launched straight into childcare after graduating from school. After that, I spent 5 years bartending while juggling acting jobs. During the pandemic, I built a voiceover booth in my home and spent the last few years self employed as a voice artist. I find that kids are really jazzed by my voice over work! It's been super fun to share that side of my career with them whether or not it's coming up with silly voices together or doing impressions of their favorite cartoon characters. As a native New Yorker, I bring a unique energy to the table as I too was once a city kid navigating the grid to and from school and extracurriculars. I have an expert knowledge of the MTA subway system and can guarantee any drop offs and errands can be achieved in a punctual manner.
I have extensive experience in childcare, primarily as a part-time after school nanny and date night sitter and have also audition coached a handful of my former babysitting clients. I've been a nanny for kids 4-11 years old and have held the responsibilities of after school/camp pick-up, transportation to lessons and activities, cooking and bath bedtime routines.
In my spare time, enjoy arts and crafts and playing video games. I tend to approach connecting with kids from a point of commonality which I think is key when dealing with children. I love to bring my own personal knowledge of the arts to my childcare work and have found kids are really drawn to that! I’ve found my most successful relationships have been forged through the art of play, whether that be board games, cross stitching or discussing our Stardew Valley farms. I’m also an animal lover and when I’m not performing or writing, can be found spending time with my cats, Pirate and Waffle.
