About me

I grew up on the beautiful island of Barbados. I'm the youngest of 3 girls and I have a younger brother. Growing up I enjoyed cooking and pursued to becoming a Chef. I graduated Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic with Certification in Home Economics,Food & Nutrition and Food Preparation. After graduating I worked in hotel industry, I noticed it wasn't what I wanted. Exposed at an early age to caring for children as my Grandmother was the neighborhood childcare provider,I realized that's really where my heart was,working with children. I worked at a private daycare and also took care of my nieces and nephews.

I have worked with multiple families over a period of 13 years full-time. I started with a 1 year old and ended when he was 5 years old with siblings 3 and 1 year old. Diaper changing,preparing breastmilk bottle feedings, preparing meals when they started solids, arranging playdates,singing,reading, trips to the playground, zoos,museums,parks. School drop offs and picks,after-school activities and sometimes attending Dr visitis. On occasion joining the family for summer vacation. I have been a full-time Nanny,date-night sitter and part-time sitter. I'm Cpr certified with more than 10 years experience working with infants,multiples of different ages and twins. I'm a certified Childcare & Newborn Care Specialist. I have thought children how to communicate through basic baby sign language.

I love being a Nanny,it's a part of my everyday life, I get to be a part of a family and help them with their little loves. It's heart warming how receptive the children are of me and love when I'm there.
When I'm not being a Nanny,I'm enjoying being a first time mom to a beautiful daughter and spending quality time with family and friends. I'm very creative and crafty which helps when it comes to keeping the children occupied when indoors. I love making things with my hands. There's a quote "Your children get only one childhood. Make it memorable." Being able to help families with their children's childhood and enjoying each milestone throughout their journey is an amazing feeling,these are moments I get to participate in that can last a lifetime.
