About me

I grew up with a younger sister and two dogs in Winston-Salem, NC. I have always been an explorer. I’ve been to 46 states and 13 countries. From hiking across Alaska to riding camels in the Australian outback- I have been lucky to live a life of adventure. I was 6 the first time I went to sleep-away camp (where I learned to sail!) and I went every summer for 10 years; first as a camper, then as a counselor! When I was 15, I lived-in with 16 six-year-old campers for a month. That experience really ignited my passion for childcare.

I became a pro at dealing with boo boos when I became a W-EMT in 2018, combining two of my passions- caring for people and the outdoors! Working on an ambulance made me quick on my feet and an effective communicator. I went on to the University of Denver to enjoy all Colorado has to offer- I love to ski and hike! During ski season in 2018 and 2019 I worked at Breckenridge Childcare. I cared for children 3 months to 3 years, playing in the snow, preparing meals, and warming bottles. I also taught ski lessons on the magic carpet. During college, I worked for many families. For three years I was a part-time babysitter for three kids ages 9, 7, and 3. The middle child has type one diabetes. I was responsible for all diabetes care and meal prepping for the family. During the days we enjoyed playing outside and going to museums, parks, and libraries. Additionally, I was a household manager for three teen boys. I helped them stay on track with homework, prepared meals, and provided transportation/overnight care as needed. Most recently, I was a nanny/swim instructor for a girl, 4, and twin boys, 2. Duties included playing, preparing snacks and meals, and facilitating inner-sibling conflict.

I graduated in 2021 with a BA in Psychology. The child development courses I took along with my minors in communications and wellness further compounded my desire to look after kids and help them grow into their best selves. For two years following graduation, I worked at Children’s Hospital CO as a Behavioral Health Specialist in pediatric psych. Every day was an opportunity to work 1-on-1 with kids facing extreme hardships and bring comfort to families.
