About me

Hi there!

A little bit about me, I am a New York native - born and raised! Although I love my city, I love to get away every now and then and ground myself in nature. I love to travel and have solo traveled a bunch, it really allows one to be in touch with oneself and learn about themselves and the world around them. I am an ocean/beach lover – you can catch me chasing sunrises and sunsets at the beach wherever I am traveling! Self-care activities are a must for me as I feel one's cup must be filled to be able to pour from. I am very keen on trying to live a holistic lifestyle and get excited to try the newest thing! I recently tried out a live acoustic sound bath and absolutely loved it! Float therapy has been added to my growing list! I also love to cook (or should I say…eat?) I am quite a foodie, and I love crafts and DIY projects. You can say Halloween (I like to call it the spooky season) and Christmas is what I live for just because of all of the fun projects and activities!

I recently graduated with a master’s in clinical social work from NYU specializing in child/adolescent development and play therapy. As a career nanny, I felt the knowledge gained in understanding human behavior and developmental processes would be quite beneficial in future roles! I am passionate about supporting a healthy environment for children to thrive and feel strongly that play is the main mode of learning for children as well as a means of interaction with them. I would describe myself as a nurturing caregiver for both children and parents and like to pride myself on being in tune with the needs of everyone around me. I grew up helping to raise a sibling with special needs and so learning the gift of service and empathy came at a pretty young age.

Over the past 13 years, I have worked with children from the newborn stage all the way to teens. Given that I have worked with this range, I have learned what the development needs are at every stage. From being able to nurture a young child, in tune with various cues, reaching developmental milestones, teaching, and playing, all the way to navigating supporting agency, autonomy, and independence as children get older, are just some of the things that have become part of my practice with kids. My health science background during undergraduate schooling paired with my clinical work during my master's have equipped me with the knowledge to really understand and support individuals in more ways than one. Empathy is one of my strongest suits and feel is a major asset when working with families. I like to pride myself on a high level of emotional intelligence and feel it is necessary when working with families. The goal is to make sure everyone is feeling supported and cared for.

I genuinely enjoy being able to support those in need and consider myself to be dependable and reliable. I can adhere to routines, schedules, and safety concerns but also a very fun-loving and creative individual. I am the type of person who does not easily give up and feels consistency and a positive outlook are key when it comes to pretty much anything in life. My professional experience as a career nanny and education has truly given me the gift of being able to adapt readily to new environments and to look at the big picture when needing to accomplish a set goal. I have learned so much over the years - every family and household is different and so being able to adhere to new settings is crucial. As I have taken care of infants, toddlers, and school-aged children and managed homes as a manager, I can confidently say I have reached the status of being the Jill of many trades!

I feel these little humans in our lives are the future and truly feel with a gentle, nurturing, and explorative approach, we help guide the little ones and help them enjoy life and develop innate tools to overcome challenges. Watching them grow is a gift in itself and helping them reach milestones is an amazing feeling. We as a whole play a contributing factor in shaping humanity every day whether we realize this or not, and our little ones are right under our very noses. I think I will come to a halt with my essay as I can go on for ages if possible!
