About me

Greetings! My name is Priscilla Ovalle. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Growing up, I enjoyed reading and writing. My passion for studying and learning allowed me to graduate high school and college with good grades. I earned my bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College. After receiving this degree, I continued my college career at Lehman College to obtain more credits in early childhood education. These experiences helped me realize that my passion is working with children and positively contributing to their development. I gained firsthand experiences in childcare throughout my high school years until post-college.
I’ve been working with children for the past eight years. My first role was as a daycare assistant during my junior and senior years of high school. I provided care and appropriate supervision for more than fifty kids ages 4 months to 12 years during this time period. I also assisted the daycare lead with classroom structure and providing academic support. My second role was as a childcare assistant for an after-school childcare center. I was present in this role for two years during my college career. I was able to establish an effective classroom environment for children ages 4 years to 12 years, meal prep, and provide academic tutoring. This environment introduced me to a family that hired me as a nanny for their son from ages 3 to 6 years old. I provided light housekeeping, meal prepping, and appropriate supervision, and joined the family on outings such as sports practice. All of these experiences inspired me to open my very own daycare which has been open for one year. I was able to establish program guidelines that promote a positive, productive, and safe daycare environment for sixteen children, ages 1 to 12 years old.
I am a believer that children are our future. The growth and experiences children encounter during their younger years shape them as individuals and have the ability to affect the rest of their lives. Being able to positively contribute to this process inspires me to be the best role model I could be to them. I trust that the impact of these children will progressively make the world a better place.
