About me

My name is Ciara and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York! I am the middle child so I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers. As a child I was always fascinated with teachers and how there were so many different ways to teach. I would always tape paper to my bedroom door and teach my siblings everything I learned in school that day! I also enjoyed traveling around NYC with my family. So much nostalgia over time. I graduated from Kings Borough Community College in 2017 with my Associates in Early Childhood Education. After graduating I worked in many different schools to come to a realization that I would love to start my own playroom.
I’ve worked with children for 8 years ( 2015- present). Throughout my experience as an educator, including my time as a lead teacher, I have worked with infants as young as six weeks old up to school-age children. My responsibilities were broad, including designing lesson plans tailored to the children's individual interests (inclusive of Montessori), cultivating a secure and stimulating environment through enjoyable activities, and consistently communicating with families to provide updates on their children's progress. These examples merely scratch the surface of the broad range of responsibilities I undertook as an educator.
I have also formed a special bond with one of the infants I previously cared for, and I continue to work part-time with them in Tribeca.
I love to read children's books and bring them to life! I enjoy reading with little ones as their faces light up and become super curious about the story! Watching infants grow into being themselves, proud and independent people motivates me to become apart of their journey.
