About me

Thank you for taking the time to read my bio and consider hiring me to take care of your child. I grew up in Knoxville, TN. After graduating high school, I moved to Boston, MA to attend Boston University where I received degrees in Philosophy and English. I worked as a writing tutor, helping students in a variety of subjects. This ignited my drive to help others learn and find their voice.

After graduation, I took my knowledge of philosophy into the publishing and media worlds, working as an assistant editor; a passionate and empathetic writer, I later worked as a fact checker and copy editor. When the Pandemic hit, I knew I needed a change, one that would bring me closer to my aspiration of becoming a teacher. That’s what brought me into the world of childcare.

I’ve been a professional babysitter and nanny for the last three years. The baby I take care of now is a little over one year old, and I started working for his family when he was just 8 months old. I take care of his needs during the day, from waking him up to changing diapers and making/feeding him breakfast and lunch. While we have fun together, I also encourage him to play on his own as well. After putting him down for a nap, I tidied up our play and kitchen area.

I also have experience taking care of newborns. I worked as a full-time nanny for a baby from the time she was three months old to six months old, often staying overnight while her mom was at work as a nurse. On other days of the week, I would spend time with her throughout the day, warming bottles and feeding her, rocking her to sleep, and playing. Her parents required me to speak Spanish with the baby.

Creativity is central to my practice as a babysitter and nanny; I love to write, paint, crochet, and leap into crafty projects. I like to integrate this into my time with the kids, creating opportunities for them to explore art and develop those motor skills.

My approach to childcare is empathetic, compassionate, and rooted in reliability — both with the kids and their families. I find that keeping an open line of communication between a babysitter and parents is essential to creating a comfortable and safe environment for the child.
