About me

I was raised in the small mountain town of Conifer in the foothills of Colorado, as the middle of 5 kids. As a child, I was always making friends anywhere we went and singing to strangers. I grew up and attended the University of Denver where I studied Music and English, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, Poetry, and a minor in music. Since graduating, I have performed with choirs both nationally and internationally. Performing in Aspen, Denver, New York City, London, and Rome as a part of choral festivals. Performing annually at Carnegie Hall and most recently the Lincoln Center, reignited my love for New York City and inspired my move to the East Coast.

Growing up with a big family my babysitting skills were honed very early in life. I was always the first to volunteer to help feed or change my younger siblings. And at family events, with my many cousins, I was always the one you found playing with the kids or snuggling the babies. I started babysitting outside my family when I was in middle school, mostly helping with date night babysitting, and then in high school I took more full-time summer babysitting jobs. All throughout college I babysat regularly for two families, with boys aged 8 months and and 4 months. As well as working for a babysitting service full-time around my class schedule. After college, I started babysitting privately full-time and have been working full-time privately ever since. Most recently for the last 7 years, I worked 50+ hours a week with a family with 5 children, ages 18 months, 5 ½, 7, 8 ½, and 14.

As someone with a creative spirit and the middle of 5 children, connecting with each child I take care of based on their unique qualities is a top priority. I really value helping kiddos get aquatinted with and appreciating their personal value and their value within their world and the effect they can have on the world as a whole. I believe that consistency and being a source of loving support are the two most important things to provide as a caregiver. Seeing kiddos grow into wonderful, curious, kind humans is the most important part of helping raise them.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I try to share my love of literature with the kiddos. Whether it’s reading books or telling stories. Music is also very important to me and can be very helpful for development in all different age groups, I love to share songs and even teach a little piano or guitar to kiddos who share that love of music. Some skills I like to promote are independent play and responsibility. Small age-appropriate responsibilities help foster a sense of pride in both themselves and their belongings. Which helps set kids up for embracing the bigger responsibilities as they come.
