About me

Hello! My name is Olivia Dei Dolori. I was born in New Hampshire, raised between many New England states and France, and am currently residing in Manhattan. As a child I was very active in the arts, studied piano and dance through high school, and was always reading. In 2019 I received my BFA in Acting from Syracuse University, and went on to become a professional nanny in September 2019. I decided to go back to school during the pandemic, and received a Graduate Certificate in Gender and Sexuality studies at The New School, and have continued on to be a current Liberal Studies MA candidate there. Childcare has always been a very important part of my life, and I love tying in my theater arts background, with the skills I am learning in MA like psychology and media studies to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for kids of all ages.
I started working with kids at a very young age, as a theater camp counselor in Ogunquit, Maine. As a counselor I was responsible for up to 20 kids at a time, taught dance, music and acting, and would help the kids put on a full-length production at the end of the camp time. Most recently I worked with a family for two years, from the time their daughter was 16 months until age 3. I was responsible for getting her ready in the mornings, taking her to the park/music class, preparing meals, and putting her down for a nap. I gained insight into potty training, and baby sign language as well. I worked with another family on weekends/date nights, with their young children ages 6 months, 18 months, and 4 years. I helped make bottles, change diapers, make snacks, and put the infants down for naps. I lived in France as a young child, so I have excellent proficiency in French, and am happy to help foster a dual-language household.
As a huge reader, fostering a love of books is extremely important to me, so I am always happy to read with children of any ages. I lead with understanding and patience when working with children, and try to really value their sometimes big feelings and emotions. The first few years of life are fascinating to me, and I love helping to encourage milestones and developments within that time.

I love reading books, and teaching children about big feelings, how to self regulate, and how to become a great friend and citizen of the world. I love arts and crafts, and love to encourage creativity in any way that I can in children.
