About me
I’m from Tulsa, OK. My brother is 10 years younger than me! I took my role as older sister seriously and enjoyed babysitting for neighbors and friends. I love planning activities and creating a sense of community and belonging. As soon as I could drive I started gaining experience as a summer nanny. When I graduated from the University of Denver with a BA, I became a full-time nanny! I have fallen in love with this career.
I’ve summer nannied for 8-year-old twin boys, 2 boys (8 and 6) with a 2-year-old sister, and a 14-year-old boy with 2 sisters (10 and 8). I ensured pool safety, prepared meals, and provided safe transportation. Some of my favorite summer kid activities are swimming, hiking, biking, geocaching, soccer, tennis, and picnics. After lockdown, I was a part-time nanny for 8 and 5-year-old girls. I supervised Zoom school and kept the youngest busy with preschool activities. My full-time nanny job was for 1 and 4-year-old girls, now almost 4 and 7. I was in charge of scheduling and planning activities, managing toy/clothes rotation, light housework, meals, transportation, speech, and PT. We took day trips to the mountains, explored playgrounds around Denver, and spent hundreds of hours at the library, zoo, and museums. Mom worked from home; we made a great team! We traveled locally/internationally and I provided weekend/overnight care as needed. I have experience with epilepsy, diabetes, asthma, speech delays, sensory needs, ADHD, and dyslexia. I’ve ensured food safety for multiple families including peanut, shellfish, and gluten allergies; I’m trained on emergency response. I’m great at baby signs and learning ASL. I am CPR/first aid certified.
I’m reliable, patient, and very involved. I love planning activities, playing outside, and going on outings. I prefer a child-led approach with an emphasis on being safe, kind, and respectful. Teaching through play and watching kids grow are two of my favorite things. I hold a deep respect for natural curiosity and the need to understand our world. I think it’s important to explain the logic and reasoning behind my expectations in developmentally appropriate ways. Everything starts with connection and trust.
