About me

I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. I lived in Queens very briefly before moving back to the Bronx. After I graduated high school, I decided to pursue a biology degree. However, I recently changed my major to theatre and I couldn’t be happier. I worked as a nanny while also attending school full-time, and it was incredibly beneficial and rewarding.

There are more girls in my family than boys. From a very young age, it was expected of us girls to help out our family with the new babies and toddlers since there was so many of us. I never really minded, as I enjoyed bonding with my cousins and learning how to properly care for them whenever it was necessary. I don’t think it interferes with my childhood, if anything it made my childhood much better. I spent my high school and college years working in paid childcare positions to gain even better experience. I had my first short-term babysitting job in 2019 for a 4-year-old boy. This included developing behavioral plans, regulating nap schedules, and creating fun early childhood activities. In June of the same year, I got a more long term job for a family that lasted until 2021. I helped their 3 and 5-year-old daughters prepare for bedtime accordingly, assisted with basic cleaning skills, and engaged them in many creative outdoor activities regardless of weather. My most recent job was my first full time position, and I cared for a 10-year-old boy. Manners, respect, and responsibility was incredibly important to the family so I incorporated those values into our day to day activities. I was also available for the family outside of work hours in case of an emergency.

Spending quality time is always a priority to me, regardless if I’m alone or with those that I care about. Every family is different, but sometimes those differences bring you closer! Building healthy relationships with my employers/children I nanny is very important to me, and it makes pursuing a career in childcare all the more worthwhile!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Content with where I am in life. There are so many possibilities for the future, it’s actually nerve racking to think about sometimes. I have many passions, and I hope that in 5 years I have chosen my hearts desire and went on the right path for me.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Arts and crafts leaves so much room for creativity and expression. There’s so many different things to engage with and it’s wonderful to see what young minds can come up with. Every family has different values, and I love to incorporate them in day to day conversations and learning.
