About me

I grew up in Queens, New York with an older brother. I love reading, Harry Potter, rollerskating, and the X-Men. I went to LaGuardia Community College for Paralegal Studies and graduated with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. During my studies, I was not enjoying law and was simultaneously working as a sitter. Ultimately, I decided to pursue the career that gave me happiness. In the long run, I'd want to run my own daycare. Laguardia would be the same college where I later earned my Childcare Certification.

I have two younger siblings, but because of our nine-year age gap, I became more of a second mom to them. My brother was diagnosed with autism at an early age, making my household have to adjust to a new routine, level of patience, and ABA therapy. I spent a year babysitting children with special needs, families had difficulty finding a sitter comfortable with taking on the roles. Responsibilities included meal prep, assisting in the bathroom, making sure the child didn't cause physical harm to themself, and introducing a child to the outside environment(children are often affected by loud noises and unable to communicate). From there I expanded to both part-time and full-time jobs, sitter and nanny jobs. With children whose ages ranged from 20 months to 13 years old. Caring for more than two children, when playdates required. Duties included school picks, shuttling kids to and from activities, making dinner, snack times, planning outdoor activities, homework assistance, bath routine, bedtime routine, teaching Spanish, accompanying to appointments, and communicating with sitters. Duties for the 20 month-year-old also included changing nappies, taking the stroller to the park, and helping her develop. (A, B, Cs, flashcards, reading out loud, talking). I traveled with two families during the summer for any help they might need during the trip.

The phrase "Be the person you needed when you were younger" resonates with me. It reminds me that the children I care for are being strongly affected by me both physically and emotionally. My goal is to create a warm, fun, and accepting environment.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Running my own daycare!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Teaching them Spanish. Children are surprisingly very quick to learn and memorize a new language, eagerness and excitement helps too. Rollerskating, exploring cool shops (Harry Potter store/BTS store), and visiting cool locations (Pier 2/bookstores/arcades).
