About me

I grew up on a lush, tropical island of Jamaica as the last child of twelve. My mom ran a daycare, and I was always her little helper. Watching my mom care for these children, I fell in love with nurturing and supporting them. When I later came to the USA, I started working as a nanny for families. My love for children has now led me to pursue an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education at Borough of Manhattan Community College. My passion for working with children stems from a deep understanding of their developmental needs and a strong desire to create a positive and enriching environment for their growth.

I have been working with children for over twenty years, gaining valuable experience across various age ranges. I have worked with infants beginning from newborn providing them with attentive care and meeting their basic needs such as feeding, diaper changing, while ensuring a comfortable sleep routine. Additionally, I have worked with toddlers, preschoolers, pre-teens, and teenagers engaging them in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development. Over time my experience with working with twins and a family of four with different age groups have taught me the importance of individualized attention for each child’s unique learning style and mannerism. This has been something that I carried with me on to every job. I have learned to treat each child has an individual although they may have other siblings.

Throughout the years working as a nanny, I have had the incredible opportunity to build strong relationships with families. It is my responsibility as a nanny to ensure that the children under my care get to interact with other children on a regular basis this way, they can foster long lasting relationships. These relationships oftentimes are maintained by the parents after the end of my employment with the family. Furthermore, in these roles, I have been responsible for supervising children's activities, preparing meals, assisting with homework assignments, and always ensuring their safety.
