About me

Hi, Smart Sitting families! My name is Allison. I was born on the island of Tobago, as in Trinidad and Tobago. I’m the ninth of ten children, so I understand sibling dynamics very well!

After many years of working at a hotel in Tobago, I migrated to the USA, where I went to work as a live-in nanny and housekeeper for five years. The family had three boys, ranging in age from six months to four years.

Upon leaving that job, I went into baby nursing, which I did for over ten years. One of the most rewarding parts of the job was watching the kids grow, and forming a relationship with both the children and the parents. Sometimes, I’d be preparing to leave a job when the family would have another kid, and they’d ask me to stay on and be their baby nurse for their newborn! Therefore, with some of these families I stayed with for several years at a time.

For the last three years, I have worked as a nanny, which came as a natural extension to my work as a baby nurse. With this family, I started when one child was 7 months old, and then continued as they had another baby.

I am fun-loving and energetic. I love to laugh and I enjoy traveling and learning new things. I am easy-going and value open, authentic, and transparent communication. I’ve been told my “vibe” is nurturing and all the parents and other nannies at the playground know me by my bright red hair which I feel is a great metaphor for the passion I bring to whatever I choose to do.

I love what I do and I always do it to the best of my ability. Taking care of children is more than a job to me. It’s my passion! Because of this, I have maintained a bond with each family that I have worked for. My knowledge and experience taking care of newborns to adolescents has helped every family I work with rest assured that their children are happy, healthy, and loved, which is my number one goal for every child I care for.
