About me

Children, books, and children who love books are a few of my favorite things. I was able to combine these loves into a career as a school librarian after completing my Master's degree in 2013. I have always been passionate about reading and writing, and want to encourage these interests in children today.

In addition to pursuing a career in the the education field, I have a vast amount of
childcare experience. I have babysat for a number of families over the past 18 years. During my undergraduate studies as a theater major, I spent my school vacations working at a daycare center and also substituted at a Montessori school on occasion. Although many of the children I have cared for are now too old to need a babysitter, I still retain a close relationship with several of the families.

I understand what a great responsibility it is to care for someone else's children and am fully invested in meeting the physical, intellectual, and emotional needs of the kids I care for. The safety and well-being of my charges is my number one priority, but I also feel that it is incredibly important that the children are happy and genuinely enjoy spending time with me, just as I enjoy spending it with them.
