About me

I grew up in Western Massachusetts and come from a large family. Although I only have one brother, I am the second oldest of 9 cousins so it's always felt like I have many siblings. I was a very active kid who spent most afternoons outside on my bike and playing with neighborhood kids. Both of my parents are super creative so I always had a notebook and market with me in addition to all the necessary craft supplies needed to make houses for the frogs I would find. I went to a small liberal arts college outside of Burlington, Vermont called Saint Michael's College. I graduated in 2021 with a dual B.A. degree in Environmental Studies and Studio Art & Design. I moved to Brooklyn in the fall after graduation and began babysitting and started doing freelance graphic design. I set my own schedule, which is very flexible, and make time so that I am able to babysit part-time.

I grew up adoring my babysitters and looked up to them when I needed guidance. Now that I am on the other side of that relationship, I understand how important it is to connect and form relationships with the kids I am taking care of. I grew up babysitting for kids in my neighborhood starting at the age of 12. While in high school I worked at various summer camps as a camp counselor. I have experience with infants, toddlers, elementary-aged kids, and pre-teens. During the summer of 2020, the height of the COVID lockdown, I took care of an 18-month-old infant full-time. I changed diapers, put her down for naps, made 3 meals per day once she started eating solids, did laundry during nap time, bottle-feeding, took her on walks in the stroller, held her in the pool, and read lots of animal books. During my time with Ava, she was undergoing testing for autism. My most recent childcare experience in New York has been with elementary-aged kids and toddlers as a part-time babysitter. I have experience taking care of kids with ADHD and anxiety.

Creativity has always been an outlet for me so when it comes to taking care of kids, I try and incorporate it into everything I do. I believe kids are some of the most creative beings on this planet, it's just a matter of how you foster and encourage it. It is one of the reasons I have chosen to pursue childcare work. I truly believe that there is no such thing as a bad kid, it's all about giving them resources and problem-solving.
