About me

Hello! My name is Sherryl and I was born and raised in NYC. I have three other siblings and I am the oldest out of the group. Growing up I enjoyed reading, visiting amusement parks with my family, road trips, painting, writing in my journal and going on walks. I recently graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in August of 2022 with my Bachelors in Psychology. I plan to continue working in the child care field or even early childhood development. After graduating I was working from home honestly enjoying time off from school after a long three year road of hard work. All of this ties into being a babysitter/nanny because I enjoy working with children. Watching them grow and have their own personalities amazes me and watching them learn something new each and everyday.

I have been working with children since 2015 which all varied from the ages to newborn - 16 years old. I began babysitting throughout my family and friends which then branched out to finding families of my own. I have provided child care to many different families over the years from my agency. A few families I have stayed long term with where the child was 5 months and we then ended when he was 1 and a half years old. I would change his diapers, prepare snacks and meals, plan any playdates or fun activities to do nearby. Go to the library or a walk in the park. I've also been successful at teaching them some sign language to help communicate if they cannot speak yet! I am also CPR and First Aid certified. For a few months before COVID came around I was also a paraprofessional where I was an assistant in a classroom with elementary children. I managed a call of 12 students and helped with homework, reading, writing, and other activities.

On my days where I am not nannying I am at home with my two-year-old daughter! I plan out fun activities to do with her like the zoo, museums, or even a new park to go to. I love reading and so does she so we read a lot of books and love to visit the library!
