About me

I grew up in the heart of Brooklyn NY.
I was the baby of two siblings. I’ve always wanted to become a teacher as a child. I worked as a teacher’s assistant and fell in love with working and helping children. I am currently attending Grand Canyon University where I would be receiving my bachelor’s in early childhood education.
Growing up with two older siblings I have always wanted to do everything my siblings did. I followed in my sister’s footsteps and became a babysitter in high school. I would babysit for all of my neighbors and my parent's friends. In my last year of high school, I worked as an Afterschool teacher. This was one of my first jobs. It was amazing! I interact with children, played games, helped with homework, and gave the children a safe space to engage with each other. After my Afterschool job, I graduated from high school and worked in a private school as a teacher’s assistant.
Working in the private school I would usually get asked by parents to babysit during the afternoon hours
I believe that each child is an individual and as an educator/ Nanny, I will value and develop each child's strengths, interests, skills, abilities, and knowledge to extend their learning. I believe that children learn through play. I will provide opportunities for children to explore, discover, create, and imagine.
Children show love and affection in different ways, but the ways in which they do always feel genuine, and know how to instantly melt your heart. One of the best parts of working with kids is that it's almost guaranteed that they share their love for you in some way during the day, every day.
I really have fun with children, especially being silly. Silliness is one behavior you can almost always count on when you’re around kids. Whether they’re making goofy faces, playing an imaginary game, or telling jokes, kids enjoy being silly. And better yet, they enjoy other people joining in on the silliness with them!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Have a reading marathon. Write stories together. Paint or draw. Have a sunset picnic at a park or beach. Play board games. Some skills that I love to teach children are communication, making connections, critical thinking, and taking on challenges.
