About me

My name is Madi and I am so excited to find a family who needs my care and support. I was born in Washington, DC but spent most of my childhood growing up in Nashville, TN. Growing up, I was involved in dance and theater and have always enjoyed performing. For college, I went to the University of Tennessee where I got my bachelor’s in teacher education and eventually obtained my Master’s in special education.
Although my experience with children started as a babysitter, my professional childcare experience began at summer day camps and eventually full-time teaching. I began my career as a special education teacher 7 years ago right after graduating because I loved teaching children and supporting their individual needs. I have taught in public, private, and charter schools in Tennessee, Guatemala, and Brooklyn where I specialized in supporting students with unique learning needs. One year ago, I decided to leave the classroom as a full-time teacher and pursue other interests and personal goals. As an artist myself, I wasn't able to nurture my creativity in the ways I would like as a teacher which is why I have decided to pursue nannying. I am able to explore my creativity and art in my own time, while also working with children and families!
This past year, I nannied a 1-year-old and have truly developed a passion for caring for children in this capacity. My responsibilities included: preparing meals, feeding, diaper change, playing, nap time, and taking her to parks and museums using public transportation. I love using my imagination, playing outside, and getting to know the children I work with. I pride myself on being attentive, curious, and present. creative, caring, and safety-focused nanny. I cannot wait to begin working with your family and learning more about how I can best support your child/children.
