About me

I am actress, teaching artist, and childcare professional with 10 years of experience living in NYC. I have always had a deep appreciation for working with children, and one of my favorite things is helping kids explore their own artistic passions and means of creative expression.

I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. I majored in Educational Studies (with a self-designed major in Child Development & The Arts in Education) and Performing Arts at Trinity College in CT, and spent a great deal of time working in Hartford public schools as a classroom assistant and teaching artist apprentice. I also worked at the Trinity Childcare facility during my 4 years there – in the infant-to-2-year-old room, the toddler room, and the preschool. I spent my full junior year abroad, for one semester at the National Theater Institute, a conservatory style acting training program, and one semester at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, where I worked as a teaching assistant in a 5th grade classroom and developed a love of African dance.

Since graduating, I have worked as an actor in many NYC venues, as well as on National Tours and at regional theaters around the country. I have a special passion for Shakespeare and also love working on developing new plays. I have worked as a Teaching Artist with several artistic organizations in NYC, teaching theater, improvisation, musical theater, playwriting and more to students ages 5-17. I've worked as a classroom teacher in Theater for both middle and high school students, and as the Director of Education at a theater company I co-founded in 2010, MaineStage Shakespeare.

I'm a warm, optimistic, creative sitter, who loves to have fun with kids while maintaining the necessary rules and routines of day to day life. I have a ton of experience working with infants and am very comfortable working with parents to set and enforce schedules. I take initiative, communicate well with children and parents, and keep calm in challenging situations. I'd love to meet your family!

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Making theater and working with children.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

Cooking and baking, singing, dancing and acting (and especially introducing kids to Shakespeare, because they usually love it!), and exploring NYC's parks, museums, and unique events and experiences together.
