About me
I was born and raised in Peru. I grew up with my two cousins who are 18 and 20 years old now. I helped raise them and I really enjoyed spending time with them, doing their hair and playing dress up. I also have an older brother who lives in Brazil. I came to the US when I was 17 years old. I did my senior year of High School and then went to college and got an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I chose this career because, not only I enjoyed being around children, but it also gave me the opportunity to teach and cultivate important lessons catered toward the development of young children. I then got a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology because I wanted to understand the normal and abnormal psychological patterns of a child which can help caregivers understand how to best communicate and connect with children.
While I was doing my Associate’s, I volunteered at a daycare and I gained experience in the US school system. I assisted teachers in different toddler and preschool rooms; I really enjoyed circle time. Later, I got my first paid job as an infant lead teacher and this is when I developed a deep love for infants. Infant education goes from increasing confidence to improving fine motor skills; there is no limit to how much children can improve if you take the time to introduce them to the world around them. The following year, I started working as a floater assistant teacher at a different daycare. I assisted teachers in the infant, toddler, and preschool/kindergarten rooms. Since I got to work with all ages, I learned to efficiently respond to children’s needs according to their age. I also babysat different children from the daycare, ages 1 to 3 years old, on weekends or date nights. During covid, I became a nanny for a family from the daycare and stayed with them for 2.5 years. Their girl was 18 months when I started, and by the end of the year their boy was born and I started caring for him when he turned 4 months old. I would change diapers, and warm bottles, prepare lunch for her and solids for him, put them down for a nap, and take them for walks, play dates, or to the playground. I supervised their activities both in and out of the home, as well as engage with them in different developmental activities according to their age. We practiced baby sign language and Spanish language. We loved doing arts and crafts, writing, painting, and baking.
As a child caregiver, I look forward to educating and inspiring children every day. I have a passion for early childhood education; I am patient, creative, and understand diversity. I believe in promoting good behavior by using positive reinforcement and my goal is to establish a safe play environment for children at all times. I pursue child-related work because I learn from children. By working regularly with children, I am constantly reminded of many life lessons, such as enjoying life's simple pleasures, that it is good to be curious and take risks and to have fun and be different. It is said that the more time people spend taking care of children, the more meaningful their life is.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
I love reading, painting, singing, and dancing with children. Also, there are important life skills children need to learn such as decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, and communication skills, and I love guiding children through this and seeing them grow into respectful and educated little people.
