About me

I was born and raised in Kingstown, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines, alongside my older sister and two of my younger siblings. While in secondary school, teachers often sent me to look after the younger students in the primary school whenever they had to step away from class. During my free time, I enjoyed taking the children of my village to the park and playing with them. Whenever their parents needed extra help at home, I happily came by to look after their children.

After secondary school, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. However, due to a lack of funds, I was unable to attend college. Instead, I went from working at a store to working at a factory as a racquet inspector. Then, I went to live in Canada, where I first started working as a nanny. However, I wasn't able to get my green card, and I missed my son, so I went back to St. Vincent, hoping to apply for my green card from there. For a few years, I baked and sold pastries before traveling to the United States in October 1992.

In February 1993, I began working as a full-time nanny, taking care of a nine-month-old boy, and working with the family until he was three years old. I assisted with bedtime preparation, potty trained him, took him on outings, did some light housework, and played games with him. Starting in April 2000, I took care of two girls from when they were 2 and 4 to 4 and 6. In addition to usual duties, I took up the role of a nursery school teacher for the youngest and engaged in non-screen-based activities as the family didn't own a TV. My most recent job started in April 2014 and ended towards the end of last year, where I took care of a three-month-old, and later his newborn sister, until they were eight and five respectively. Duties include assisting them with their morning and nighttime routines; monitoring their development; taking them to school, extracurriculars, and playdates; and assisting them with homework and special projects.

My ultimate goal is to help raise the next generation to be as persistent, respectful, and kind as they can be. A proper upbringing can help avoid so many of the tragedies our country faces, and I want to do whatever I can to play my part.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

My favorite activities to do with children are arts and crafts. I love making up songs for each child I take care of, and checking out books to read with them. In the past, I've taught them how to bake, making cookies, brownies, and cupcakes.
