About me
For as long as I can remember, I've loved kids. I've worked with children in a professional capacity for the past thirteen years as a mother's helper, babysitter, aquatics instructor, lifeguard, camp counselor, camp program director, assistant teacher, student teacher, children's party entertainer, and nanny. I received my Bachelors in Education and Theatre from Manhattanville College in 2009, but my pursuit of knowledge is a life-long endeavor. It's difficult for me not to infuse my passion for theatre, music, art, history, science, language and literature into my work with children. My enthusiasm for learning is contagious!
I absolutely love working with children of all ages and I pride myself in being a fun, energetic, understanding, natural caregiver. I am great at multitasking and can be silly and warm with kids, all the while being organized, safe, and structured. I am extremely passionate about promoting real-life, hands-on learning at any age and I am strong advocate for reading, the arts, healthy eating, and an active lifestyle.
I have professional child care experience with...
- Infants
- Toddlers
- Preschoolers
- School-aged (K-5)
- Preteen
- Teenagers
In 5 years, I hope to be...
Hopefully starting a family of my own (and using SmartSitting when I do!).
Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Healthy meal preparation (I love the challenge of cooking gluten free, paleo, vegan, allergen-free recipes), art projects, science projects, singing, drama, basketball, volleyball, swimming, calligraphy, and basic French are just some of my favorite skills and activities to teach.
