About me
Hi! It is so nice to meet you. My name is Sarah Cehelyk. I grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey. I loved growing up with my older brother and attribute much of my empathy and compassion for others to my mom. As a child, I loved spending summers at the beach, attending camp, going to friends' birthday parties, and playing board games. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Muhlenberg College. I began working towards my doctorate in School Psychology in August 2022 and will be in the program for another four years. The focus is on special needs intervention, assessment, and accommodation within the school system. I love supporting the individual and unique needs of all children and helping them grow!
I began babysitting at 15 years old and have done so for the past eight years. The children I have worked with have ranged from 6 months to 12 years of age. These experiences have included imaginative play and trips to the playground with younger children, as well as board games and passing around a frisbee/soccer ball with older children. I am CPR certified, an excellent swimmer (I used to be the captain of my swim team!), am proficient in Spanish and Hebrew, and have a variety of special needs (as well as non-special needs) employment experiences. Through my various roles as a part-time nanny, vacation nanny, occasional babysitter, and camp counselor, I am ready to engage with new families in supporting their children.
I love finding fun ways to be active and engage with children through their unique interests. I believe children are the light of our world, and with proper guidance and support, they will flourish. We all have unique needs and perspectives, and when valued by others in our lives, we have the ability to thrive. This is what I hope for all of the children I work with.
