About me

Hello! My name is Gianna and I come from a big family back in Boston, MA! I went to high school in Massachusetts and as a teenager, my jobs were exclusively child-care related. I nannied, babysat, and was a camp counselor at two different programs that I absolutely loved, along with tutoring & peer mediation. I currently am studying at Barnard College of Columbia University Art history with a concentration in visual arts, and I am minoring in anthropology and (hopefully) education! I am part of a club at my school where I volunteer to write curriculum for elementary-aged art classes, and once a week my team and I go into local classrooms and teach our lessons! Working with art as a tool for accessibility among children is a career goal of mine and I have dedicated my educational as well as professional career to child services!

I have been professionally working with children for 6 years and have experience with infants to 12-year-olds. The age group I have the most experience in is K-2, however, the long-term nanny job I currently hold is with an 11-year-old boy. So from babies to pre-teens I have worked with & played alongside children of all ages and from all families. Some responsibilities I have and currently hold: booking appointments, connecting with after-school instructors/coaches/tutors, coordinating family events, over-looking family schedules, cleaning up the house, deep clean kitchen, laundry, organization, grocery shopping, meal planning, meal prepping, cooking meals (cooking is currently a major responsibility of my nanny role), organizing play-dates and attending those, entertaining the kids, taking the kids to and from activities, and of course with babies: changing diapers, feeding, bathing and settling down for naps. My special skills would be speaking Italian and Spanish, cooking in a variety of cuisines, developing art activities & facilitating them, and any school-related work as I am a trained tutor.

My overall philosophy towards child care is to create a team-based community with myself, the parents, and the children so that we can connect and communicate, and of course, have fun!
