About me

Hello! My name is Janae Robinson and I was born & raised in Belleville, Illinois. I am an only child, and I have a huge imagination because of it! I was very active in sports, school, and the arts. In my childhood I played soccer, volleyball, and basketball. In middle school I was class president. In high school I was vice president, leader of a dance club, in theatre, in choir, in band, in jazz band, and in marching band. I continued my passion for the arts by getting my B.F.A in theatre with a focus of acting. Since I graduated from Ball State University of Muncie, Indiana in May of 2022, I signed with a management agency, packed all of my things, sold my car of 7 years, and moved across the country to NYC in August of 2022. Since I have moved I have been working professionally as an actor.

I have worked with children since I was about 12 years old, and have had numerous jobs to 23 years old. It started with family members who were younger than me. I would only watch them for a few hours until the adults came home. I helped with homework, fed them, changed their clothes, gave them baths, and played all types of games with them. Then I started to babysit for family friends and would get paid for it. I received my CPR training, and went through the babysitting classes offered in day camps. These age ranges of kids that I watched were 3-7. I worked as a summer camp counselor in 2018. I worked with 4-5, 7-8, and 10-11 year olds. My duties were as follows: tutor reading and math in the morning, help serve breakfast, help plan out the week of activities and lessons, play games, go on field trips, and help run after camp care for parents who worked late. Later in college, I worked with 2 children actors in 2 different shows I did. One of them was 10 years old, and the other one I worked with in 2022 was 12 years old. My duties was to take a training course through my school to properly handle children in the rehearsal room and on stage. We had a lot of scenes together, so I had to help watch her back stage.

I love to be active and get out of the house. I love to try new foods, see new things, and experience different cultures. I love to read, learn, and shop! Watching tv/movies are also very therapeutic for me. All of these thing I listed kids are also interested in and growing to love! I pride myself with being kind to others, and to accept the beauty of being different. I would love to be apart of a child's life and help them navigate this weird world we live in.
