About me

I grew up in a very small town in northern California with my 3 siblings. As a child I enjoyed playing sports, drawing, journaling, and of course hanging out with my siblings. I graduated from San Diego State with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, and graduated in May of 2022. I originally was a CFD major, and I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. I only switched my major during the COVID-19 lockdown. So, I have taken several Child & Family Development courses. Since graduation, I moved back home and took some time to travel in Europe. I actually was able to babysit in London for a few weeks, and it truly was such an amazing experience! Now, I am currently living in Manhattan, and am looking to to continue my Nannying career.

I am an experienced and nurturing nanny with a passion for caring for children. I have 6 years of experience working with children, and I have helped raise children of various ages, from infants to toddlers and beyond. I am dedicated to providing a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for children to grow and thrive in.I also have an up-to-date CPR & First Aid certification.

Having over 6 years of experience, my very first job working with children was at a summer camp in 2016. As a camp counselor, I cared for children from the ages of 4-12 years old. I created engaging indoor/outdoor activities for the children, served them lunch, and helped with check in/out duties. With the help of the other camp counselors, we took the children to a public swimming pool near by and would swim with the children. I was able to do this for four summers in a row, from June to August each summer. My hours were approximately: Monday through Friday from 8-4 pm.

In 2017, I landed my first long term babysitting job working for the Janc family. I cared for two children, a girl who was 5 years old, and a boy who was 7 years old. My responsibilities included: ensuring children's safety during outside playtime, preparing/cooking dinner, and following a bed time routine. I also occasionally helped with the care of their two dogs as well.

In 2018, I started working at an after school program called Project Share. I worked with children in the 3rd through 5th grade, and would rotate between the different grades. My responsibilities included over seeing playground/recess time, facilitating arts/crafts, helping with homework, overseeing snack time, and helping with check out duties. My hours were approximately: Monday through Thursday from 3pm to 7pm.

In 2020, I began working for the Tripp family. The Tripp family had one 1 year old boy. The schedule was very flexible depending on when the mom needed my help. My responsibilities included: Preparing/feeding meals, creating engaging activities appropriate for his age, taking him on walks, changing diapers, and helping with nap time routine. I also was able to help out at his Birthday party which was was so fun and a memory I will always cherish!

In 2021, I began working for the Cowan family, who had one four year old boy. I looked after him while both parents were working from home. We would play games both outside and inside, go for walks, and of course play with toy Dinosaurs & legos. I also did an overnight weekend stay while the parents were out of town for a wedding.

In 2021, I was also a Date Night babysitter for the Fukushima family. I cared for two children, a 3 year old girl and a 5 year old boy. I prepared/served dinner, did arts/crafts, followed a bath time routine, and read to the children before bed. I also took the children to Chuck E Cheese, and the Zoo over the summer!

In 2022, I was working part time for the Anderson family. I took care of one 10 year-old girl. My job was to plan fun activities for us to do! Some of our activities included: Bracelet making, swimming at the beach, swimming in the pool, making bath-bombs, and printing out photos for scrapbooks!

In 2022, I was also working about 20 hours a week for the Elridge family! The family has one 3 month old girl. I was the "Mother's Helper." The mom would be home and do any necessary tasks she needed to get done while I watched the baby. Some of my responsibilities included: Preparing/warming the bottle, following a nap time routine, changing diapers, reading books, taking her on walks, ensuring her safety at all times, and creating engaging activities for her!

In August of 2022, I was working part time for the Kempner family. They had two boys who were 5 and 8 years old. My duties were to help them with homework, do arts/crafts, build legos with them, prepare/serve lunch, and help with a nap time routine for the 5 year old. I also took them to parks occasionally to ride their bikes, and we went to a water park once as well.

I started working for the Jones family in the beginning of December of 2022. The Jones family has a 2 year-old boy and a 9 month-old son. The schedule was changing depending on the week, due to the parents' work schedule. My responsibilities included: Preparing/warming bottles, washing dishes, folding laundry, changing diapers, taking children for walks, ensuring the safety of children while on playground, helping with learning words, helping with standing/walking exercises, bath time routine, nap time routine, bed time routine, cleaning up after the children, and occasionally feeding the dogs.

As a nanny, my passion for working with children extends beyond just providing basic care. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and engaging in activities that promote their growth and development. Some of the things I love to do and how they connect with my love for children include:

Reading and Storytelling: I believe that reading is a powerful tool for children's development, and I love sharing stories with them. I enjoy selecting age-appropriate books and using different voices and gestures to make the stories come alive. Reading and storytelling help children develop language skills, expand their imaginations, and foster a love for learning.
Outdoor Play and Exploration: I believe that spending time in nature and engaging in outdoor play is crucial for children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development. I enjoy taking children to parks, organizing nature walks, and encouraging them to explore and discover the world around them. Outdoor play promotes creativity, social skills, and a sense of wonder in children.
Arts and Crafts: I love engaging in arts and crafts activities with children, as it allows them to express their creativity and develop their fine motor skills. I enjoy planning age-appropriate art projects that involve painting, drawing, crafting, and other hands-on activities. Arts and crafts foster imagination, self-expression, and confidence in children.
Music and Dance: I believe that music and movement are essential for children's holistic development. I enjoy incorporating music and dance into daily routines, such as singing songs, playing musical instruments, and encouraging children to dance and move to the rhythm.
Music and dance help children develop coordination, self-expression, and emotional regulation.

My motivation to pursue child-related work comes from my genuine love and appreciation for the unique qualities and potential of each child. I am passionate about contributing to their growth and development in a positive and nurturing environment. My philosophy on childcare revolves around creating a safe, stimulating, and loving environment where children feel valued, respected, and supported. I believe in providing individualized care, promoting positive behavior, and fostering a sense of curiosity and wonder in children. I strive to create meaningful and engaging experiences that encourage children to explore, learn, and develop their skills to their fullest potential. After all, Children are the future!
