About me

Hello! My name is Remi, and I am a childcare provider with a love for teaching and nurturing young minds. I was born in Jamaica and moved to New York City when I was eight years old. Growing up, I was surrounded by a large and loving family, which instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and care for others. After completing my associate's degree, I enrolled in New York University where I concentrated my studies in child psychology and psychotherapy. I gained a deeper understanding of child development and the various factors that can influence a child's growth and well-being.

In 2016, I began my childcare journey as a family assistant, providing support and care to a family in need. I quickly fell in love with the work. Through this work, I gained invaluable experience in caring for a family of six. As a nanny, I have had the privilege of being a part of some of the most memorable moments in a child's life. From first steps to first words, I have witnessed so many firsts that will stay with me for a lifetime. I remember the first time I saw a child take their first steps. It was a moment filled with excitement and wonder as the child took those wobbly steps toward me, beaming with pride and joy. I also remember the first time a child said their first words. It was a moment filled with laughter and tears, as we all celebrated this monumental achievement. During my life, I have proudly become a jack of all trades; I have been an elementary school teacher, a tutor, a mentor, and most importantly, a friend.

I am passionate about providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children to learn and thrive. I believe that every child deserves to feel loved, valued, and respected, and I am committed to ensuring that they have the tools and resources they need to reach their full potential.

In my free time, I enjoy dancing, sewing, roller skating, and coding. I am also an avid traveler. It is my favorite thing to do with my best friends.
