About me
I grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as the oldest child of four. I quickly became interested in sports, travel, music, and talking to every person I saw. I went to the University of Alabama and graduated in 2019 with a degree in Public Relations. After college, I moved to a small town in Texas where I did a leadership and discipleship program through the camp I worked at every summer in college. I traveled all over the country that year and even to Israel for two weeks. The summer following that program in 2020 is when I met the family I’d end up moving to LA to work for.
Being the oldest of four I helped my parents in raising my siblings, a built-in babysitter if you will. They are the most important people in my life. I was a babysitter all throughout high school and college and volunteered every week in the nursery at my church. Over the summers I worked at a summer camp for teenagers, 3/4 of them being on leadership. It was my last summer at camp where I landed my first full-time nanny job. I moved to LA and was a nanny to four children, ages 2, 5, and 7 for two years. Duties included school pick up, homework help, meal prep, taking them to appointments, basic house chores, running errands, specific care for the 2-year-old including potty training, etc. We also traveled a lot consisting of multiple moves, and 4-6 week long vacations. I was in charge of child packing, luggage, and being their travel buddy. I also was a nanny for a 3-year-old girl for six months. I would do breakfast prep, school drop off/pick up, trips to the park or get ice cream, basic house chores, dinner prep, running errands, etc.
I’ve always had such a child-like heart and have loved every opportunity to be around children. When it comes to their ultimate growth and well-being I have always tried to create a nurturing and safe environment by allowing them to initiate play and for me to gain their trust. Creating a safe space for opportunity to make their own decisions and build self-confidence is something that I’ve always believed in. I also just love to laugh and think laughter is one of the greatest gifts and best ways to connect and so being silly and completely myself allows for the child to do the same.
