About me

I grew up in Memphis Tennessee with an older sister. As a kid, I was given the space and encouragement to nurture my creativity, and I have carried those passions with me into my adult life. I attended the University of Memphis and spent my last semester studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain. I graduated in May of 2022 with a bachelor's degree in Creative Mass Media. Throughout high school and college I also volunteered for nonprofit organizations working to provide care for the special needs community in Memphis. I hope to join this experience with my passion for art and knowledge of child development through art therapy. I am new to NYC, and I adore the city and feel very comfortable navigating through everything it has to offer!

The nonprofit organizations that I have worked with include Best Buddies, Madonna Learning Center, Hope 4 Macky & Friends, and Lucy & Dance Company. All are volunteer based organizations working to provide an uplifting community for children and adults with disabilities. During this time, I gained an increasing awareness of amazing breakthroughs that can be found in being expressive through various forms of art. I have also nannied professionally for 3 families which further propelled my desire to pursue art therapy. My nannying experience includes care for one 15-year-old boy with down syndrome throughout 2018, three siblings aged 4, 5, and 8 during 2018-19, and a 2-year-old boy from 2019-2022. My responsibilities within these three childcare experiences range from changing diapers, preparing meals, and cleaning up around the house to providing transportation, safely monitoring pool days, and coming up with fun crafts and games to entertain.

I had the opportunity to become an efficient Spanish speaker while living in Spain. I am also CPR certified. On top of my experience with professional nannying and volunteering, I am also an aunt to nine nieces and nephews whom I have had the lovely opportunity of caring for from the time that they were infants. I hope to continue to watch my love for children and art grow together as I gather more experience in child care!
