About me

Hello!

My name is Gabrielle, and I’ve been a nanny and caregiver for over ten years. A little about me: I grew up with a big extended family on Long Island, New York, and have recently relocated to Brooklyn. Growing up, I was always considered the “little mom” and was constantly tasked with looking after my younger cousins - a task I eagerly took to easily. It was from there that I decided to pursue babysitting in high school, and, given my experience, I realized how much joy It brought me.

I have a background and degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. During college, I decided to pursue nannying full-time. I loved working with families and being a support system for them. It was during this time that I started to become serious about caregiving professionally. I had the privilege of working with incredible families and children who are still a part of my life today. I have worked with children of all ages and backgrounds, from 2 to 12 years old.  Responsibilities were primarily childcare; however, I also took on the role of ‘family assistant’ when needed. For my younger children, responsibilities included engaging in activities and exercising motor skills, such as blocks and puzzles for playtime. Keeping active outside on the playground and moving our bodies is always essential in our times together, especially for my older, growing kids!

I am a creative soul, so anything that involved arts and crafts, such as painting and drawing, was heavily implemented in our day to day. Other duties would include dressing, diaper changes, meal prep and cleaning, transporting children to and from school and afterschool activities, light housekeeping, and running errands for parents when needed.

Previously, I had also worked as an independent support aid for children and adults with disabilities, fostering independent lifestyles and growth. It allowed me to develop a keen sense of patience and fortitude that I bring with me in all circumstances of my life.

In my free time, I migrate toward any activity where I can be outside in the sun. I love to swim, bike, and find beautiful landscapes or places to explore. I also value quiet time, where I can curl up and read a book, journal, paint, and nurture creativity and my thought process.

I believe in fostering a personal connection with every family and every child I work with. Every child is unique in their way, capable of extraordinary things, and deserves to be seen and treated as such. I recognize the privilege of being a part of their journey and the ability to support families however I can!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love sharing my love of reading, writing and drawing and/or painting with all children. Moving our hands and stimulating our brains through creativity. Expressing ourselves through a creative outlet is incredibly important to me.
