About me

Hello! My name is Selena Clifford and I’m a Hoboken native from New Jersey. I was an only child for about 12 years before my younger brother was born introducing me to the world of care taking. At the end of my sophomore year in high school, I got approved for a summer job program in a daycare that solidified my love of teaching and since graduating I’ve pursued a career in that field.

My first real job was at Apple Montessori where I had much to learn, but like a sponge I absorbed as much knowledge from my peers and mentors as I could, working with kids aged 6mo to 6y.o! By the end of my 5 years I taught infant sign language, potty trained, lead classroom routines, demonstrated new materials, created art projects and indoor/outdoor activities for all ages and just about everything in-between. I also discovered, within myself, a patience that even experienced professionals commended, and with it I wanted to advance my career even further. I’ve worked with families through the pandemic but I hope to become a long term nanny with the right fit.

In my free time I love to read, write and create. Working with children lets me enhance those skills all while teaching and inspiring them to be themselves no matter what. Seeing children smile because of something I taught them or having fun because of a game I created, in turn energizes me to keep doing my very best.
