About me

Growing up in Austin, Texas, I was a fierce stuffed animal collector and finger painter. My big sister and I played pretend in which we had superpowers, secret agent grandmas, and no shortage of adventures. An energetic, artistic, story-loving kid, I naturally pursued theatre. I graduated with honors from a rigorous private high school and summa cum laude from DePaul University with a BFA in acting. Since I have pursued acting work and created an art business. My academic and artistic education makes me strongly capable of helping children with schoolwork and getting creative.

I have experience with children spanning the ages of 11 months - 13 years. As temporary-infant help, I was responsible for an 11-month-old with whom I played, read to, changed diapers for, got down for nap time, and fed while also keeping the house tidy. As a part-time nanny, I cared for two kids, ages 7 and 10, aiding them in online learning during the COVID-19 lockdown. Because they lost recess, I lead them in energetic and creative playtimes- dance parties, lawn games, and drawing lessons, to name a few. When the world reopened I drove them to their sports practices, playdates, and pool hangouts. Lastly, as a long-term sitter, I began with the child when she was 7 and saw her all the way to 13! I kept her on top of her homework, fed, showered, and in bed on time, but most importantly found inventive ways to keep her off screens. We did crafts, made up songs, went to the park, and more. As a pre-teen, she challenged the no-screens policy more, but I still found ways to engage her in the world around her.

I believe we know who we are when we're young. This makes our childhood imperative to be filled with creativity, and adventure. I've spent my life fostering my younger self's passions, making me an above-average childcare professional. I am not only the go-to caretaker for story time, crafts, and improv games but also an emotionally intelligent person who can help children better understand their feelings and find their passions. My references can speak for my professionalism, work ethic, and communication skills, but what sets me apart is how much I love to help children shine.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to draw and do arts and crafts with kids. I also love playing pretend and singing songs with them. I know some light sign language and have a lot of educational experience with Spanish so I would be happy to brush up on and share as much as I know with any child I work for.
