About me

Growing up in Alexandria, VA with my mom and sister, one of my favorite things to do as a kid was saving the caterpillars and playing mommy. So of course I had to be a caregiver! I’ve loved singing and acting since I was about 5 years old. I would sing with my friends, join drama clubs and musicals, and sing in choirs! However, my mom always told me to get a ‘real’ education; So I did do some college, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that I wasn’t able to be myself! So I moved to NYC by myself so I could!

Being the older sister, I was always the responsible one and looked after those I care about. So being an assistant teacher for 2 daycares in VA for over 3 years was great! I cared for children 1 month to 6 years old! I helped with lesson plans, encouraged proper growth and development such as tummy time, and helped them with emotional and social skills. I was also a summer nanny for a 5-year-old in between that time where I followed her schedule and did writing and reading practice with her! While living in NY, I was a live-in nanny for a 7-month-old baby for almost a year! I looked after her 2 days a week at minimum mostly on the weekends. I fed her, gave her bottles, changed her diapers, put her down for naps, taught her baby sign language, play, read her books, and helped with her milestones! Before and after helping this family, I’ve been an occasional babysitter, date night sitter, and occasional/summer nanny to kids around 1 month - 16 yrs old since 2017. Sometimes I would do nanny shares too! I made sure to follow their schedules and routines closely, helped with homework, and made sure they were safe and engaged!

I’m seriously a kid at heart when caring for kids! I was an imaginative kid growing up. So I love being able to encourage kids to be free, weird, fun, and expressive! It helps them to be communicative and intentional with who they are! With being a legitimate adult now, I still love to be creative, but sometimes you lose that excitement and expressiveness you had as a kid. That’s why I think supporting this generation of kids to be passionate and inventive no matter what they want to do in life is something really important to be a part of!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love sharing creative activities, such as making collages, building forts, doing dance parties, and playing imaginary games such as playing fairies in a magical forest or being superheroes. I also love singing and introducing new appropriate songs! I love doing arts and crafts such as painting, making print screens, and coloring. I absolutely love puzzles, reading, and introducing new games like freeze tag. I love talking about the universe so talking to kids about supernovas and the trillions of galaxies we have is always fun! Going to museums, zoos in other kid-friendly activities are great! I also like encouraging kids to have positive concepts so they know how to deal with situations in a more balanced sense like blowing out the candle and using their words when they’re frustrated.
