About me

Hi, my name is Alexandra Cardenas I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. Because of my care for children, I studied to be a preschool teacher while I attended college in Peru. I am a mature, responsible, reliable, and cheerful person with excellent childcare and interpersonal skills. I moved to New York with my family almost 10 years ago, it was challenging to immigrate at the beginning but I fell in love with the city right away. New York welcomed me and my family and I am forever grateful.
As a child I was very creative and artistic, I loved dancing and acting. I remember going to ballet classes and playing "theater" with my cousins, we used to sit our family down in the living room and make them watch the plays we scripted, directed, and acted out ourselves, it was so much fun.
I am a single mom to 3 wonderful girls of my own: 18, 10 & 9 years old. They are my world and pride, my oldest daughter just got into Cornell University, and I am so proud of her. We also have a dog, named Brownie, she is a sweet and fearless Yorkie.
On the weekends we enjoy going for walks to the park, baking together, going to the movies, going to playdates, and spending time with our family. We are open-minded and pretty much up to anything fun.
As a nanny, I have 9 years of experience. I have been doing this job since I moved to New York.  I am punctual, warm, prompt, and trustworthy, and I do not smoke. I love to read to children, teach them manners, play outside with them, or take them to the library. I like to make sure that the kids in my care have healthy and balanced meals and I like to help introduce them to new foods. I am genuinely caring and always concerned with the development and education of the children I take care of.
