About me

Hi there, my name is Dasia Jacobs. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia but spent about 4 years of my life in Los Angeles, California. Growing up my parents allowed me to try every activity under the sun, and I absolutely fell in love with gymnastics, soccer, basketball, and music. I continued to explore my passion throughout high school and went on to study Business and Marketing at Georgia State University.
I am the oldest in my family, and that came with the privilege of helping raise all of the young ones that came after me. In early high school, I started to realize the beautiful connection I quickly made with children, and decided to start babysitting for families in my neighborhood and became a camp counselor during the summer. When I turned 16 I applied for a part-time position at my local nursery and fell in love with childcare. Some of my duties for the newborns included bottle feeding, tummy time, sensory play, and most importantly keeping the overall well-being of the children. When working with the toddlers it was super important to make sure they were constantly learning, safe, and having fun. In college, I became a full-time nanny for a family with two children ages (ages 10 and 12). I was with this amazing family for close to 3 years. Some of my duties included school pick up and drop off, driving to after-school activities, homework help, providing dinner, and light housework regarding the children. During the summer I would travel with the family and prepare fun activities for the children while at home. This past summer I worked with a family with two great boys ages 4 and 7. My main responsibilities included providing 2 meals a day for the boys, getting them to and from their summer activities safely, and having lots of outdoor and pool time. Throughout my many years of childcare, I have short and long-term babysat for multiple different families with children ages ranging from 6 months to 15 years old.
Being able to help raise and provide for children is such a privilege. There is unspeakable value in creating a healthy loving environment for the next generation of leaders. I love to be that helping hand every parent deserves.
Why I'm a good fit: I believe I would be a great fit for this position, because I have 4 years' worth of experience working with children within the middle school to high school age group. I had the pleasure of nannying for a family with two children aged 10 & 12 for nearly 3 years. Some responsibilities included school drop off and pick up, transportation to all after-school activities, homework help, providing dinner, and developing fun and enriching activities to limit the amount of screen time. I enjoy this age group, because it is easy for me to relate to them, and they feel as though they can trust me.
