About me

I grew up in Asheville, NC where I was the youngest of a large 10-member family. As a child, I enjoyed playing soccer, being outdoors, and singing in choir. I found my love for culture and art and went on to attend NCSU where I pursued a double major in International Studies and French Literature/Language. I graduated in December 2021 and I continued my nannying career. I developed a great enthusiasm for nannying because I saw how I was able to link my interests in education with the children.

I have worked with children for a little over 4 years. I worked with a 2 yr old girl and a 4 yr old boy. When my position with the family ended, the little girl was 4 yrs old and the boy was 6 yrs old. I was a part-time nanny and I was responsible for setting up activities for the children, making dinner, and cleaning the used space. I would also give the children baths and put them to bed. I started working with a 14-month-old boy in DC who was 4 yrs old when I finished my position with the family. We would go on walks, explore the city’s monuments, and learn about nature. I would prepare his lunch and offer new cuisines over time so that he may develop new taste palates. I successfully potty-trained the child and started swimming lessons. The family had welcomed a baby boy who I started with part-time and went full-time when he turned 8 months. When I left, the baby boy was 21 months old. I would wash bottles and do the laundry. I also monitored nap schedules so that I knew when to adjust based on the children's needs. I implemented walking exercises that helped the child take his first steps.

I am able to use what I learned and translate it to the children through art, music, science, etc so they may also find their passions. My interests are broad which allows me to relate to each child. I like to give the children the power to be able to explore the space and knowledge around them and determine their own interests while also being the person who is facilitating these moments.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love to teach children about music. I have a great love and passion for Broadway and musicals so don't be surprised if your child first words end up being "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". I love teaching kids about the arts and I would love to share my passions by going to museums as well as participating in different painting/drawing projects.
