About me

My name is Talia. I was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. I have two brothers and I am the middle child. My major is Medical Science and I am currently enrolled in school. I have one more semester to get my degree. I know that no formal requirements or certifications are needed to become a nanny, but it is something I wanted to educate and equip myself with and I believe my degree will help me stand out as a candidate for my nanny job.
In the last family I worked for, their daughters were 3.5 and 7.5 years old when I started. Today they are 8 and 12 years old. It's amazing to see and watch them grow. As they grow up, it's also incredible to see their interests and likes change and to witness their own changes. As their nannies, I was producing games according to their ages and interests. Although Paro (12) doesn't spend much time with her sister Ria and me, we enjoy just being together, having a meal together, building a gingerbread house together, chatting, or watching a movie with popcorn all together. The relationship between us is very nice and warm. Even though I no longer work with them all the time, they see me as more than a nanny, as part of the family, or as their older sister, and they look forward and get so excited when they hear about the day I’m going to babysit them. As a nanny, it's so nice to feel part of the family. Of course, the games and toys we play with differ according to the age range of children, but there are some games such as hide-and-seek, tag, some board games, or some crafts that can appeal to many children regardless of age.
I believe that every child is an individual. Children's imagination is incredible. They are curious from infancy and it's great to help them discover new things. I value children's interests, skills, talents, and knowledge. While teaching them something, I can also learn from them. Children need the reassurance of being loved and cared for. Keeping them safe and feeling safe are also very important components of my relationship with every child.
As a nanny, my goal is to provide children with a rich environment where they can feel safe, explore, learn and feel free to express themselves.
