About me

I grew up in a beautiful small town in north Alabama where I enjoyed sailing on the lake, hiking, show choir, and singing in the chamber choir. I graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Public Relations and Human Development and Family Studies. After graduation, I moved to Dallas, TX, to join the 2019 Teach for America corps. I taught 7th grade ELA for 2 years. The pandemic hit during my first year of teaching, so I really had to lean into my creativity and emotional intelligence to be the support system my students needed during this difficult time. After my commitment to Teach for America ended, I moved up to New York and taught 5th grade ELA and Humanities at Boys Prep Bronx. I then left teaching to pursue recruiting, but I really missed working with children day to day, which leads me here!

Throughout high school, I babysat neighborhood children and volunteered to watch kids of all ages at various church and choir-related camps. In college, I was an after-school nanny for two children ages 7 and 9. Duties included picking the girls up from school, providing a snack, homework help, meal prepping, and driving to various extracurricular activities. While teaching, I also babysat an 8-month-old little boy who I watched grow from crawling to becoming a babbling toddler! I kept him on weekends and during the summer for two years. I took him to the park, played with him, worked on developmentally appropriate tasks with him, prepared him meals, and enjoyed watching him grow. Since I moved to New York in 2021, I occasionally babysit for a family with children ages 9 and 11 on date nights!

My 12+ years of experience range from children of 8 months old to 17 years of age! As an aunt of 9, I have always been around children and am extremely passionate about children experiencing positive, friendly, and loving adults throughout their life. I am also driven to create an environment for children where literacy and emotional regulation are encouraged and supported.
