About me

I grew up in Brooklyn and I have 4 siblings. I was the oldest of the bunch so I would usually watch my younger siblings as my parents had to work late shifts. I graduated from FDR High school in Brooklyn and did 2 years at CSI in Staten Island for business. For the past 6 years, I’ve been working as a paraprofessional for the Department of Education and after that day ends I babysit and take care of children. As a paraprofessional, I would work directly one on one with a student who may have behavioral issues or be a special needs child and my job is to help and guide that child throughout the school year. Working with kids like that made me feel really good that I was making a difference in somebody's day.
I’ve worked with all age groups and some of the job responsibilities varied but did include pick-ups, drop-offs, daily activities such as museums, parks, pools, libraries, and the list goes on. I’m really okay with anything as long as the family is OK with it. I’ve also done light housework, helping with homework and fixing dinner, and getting the kids to sleep. My job is to ensure the safety of all the children in my care and the directions of the family I’m working with so I don’t really have objections to what a family might need. Everybody has their own way of getting things done and some are more effective than others but I genuinely feel like I really connect with a lot of these kids and give them another role model in their life. I love what I do and I love being able to make a difference always.
