About me

I grew up in Queens as the eldest of three. My brother and I spent most of our childhood doing fun activities throughout the five boroughs. I also enjoyed family trips to visit my relatives in Toronto, where I would watch over my younger cousins. As for my degree, I have an associate's in Early Childhood Education from Ashford University and since graduating, I continued my career as a Nanny once I stepped down from teaching. Being a teacher taught me many valuable things and improved my knowledge of young children tenfold. I still enjoy creating fun, age, and developmentally-appropriate activities as well as embracing my own creativity through sewing and crafting. These skills that I was fortunate enough to learn have helped me to remain an innovative caregiver in this field because I am constantly thinking of how to express the creativity that children do possess when given the right encouragement.

I began my career as a nanny/childcare professional in 2014 when I worked as a part-time babysitter for Urban Sitter. It was not until 2017 that I was given the opportunity to work as an assistant teacher at Bright Horizons. I started off in one of the infant classrooms and really started to flourish as a teacher. My first center taught me many key lessons. About a year later at my second center, I went from being an assistant toddler teacher to the head infant teacher of my very own classroom. Similar to my responsibilities in my former center, my primary job was to feed the babies at specific times, and nap times, as well as encourage their developmental growth through carefully planned activities and free play that was appropriate for their age group. Additionally, it was also a main goal of mine to ensure that my children would be ready for their transition into the toddler room such as the introduction of sippy cups, and utensils and teaching them baby sign language as younger infants. Throughout my three years at Bright Horizons, I floated around from classroom to classroom occasionally. However, I spent most of my career in my own class and juggled between lesson planning, as well as being the constant person there for the children. My overall experience with children ranges from infancy to the age of seven years old. As both a teacher and nanny, I am familiar with important tasks such as meal prepping, diaper changes, feeding times, structured schedules, and free play, and am also CPR certified. Since working as a nanny again for the past two years, I have also worked alongside relatives of the children I have taken care of and understand the defining line between being a caregiver at someone’s home versus being a teacher in a classroom.

As I previously mentioned, my strong passion for the arts, crafting, and sewing has enabled me to stay motivated when it comes to encouraging young children to explore their creativity. Overall, I have a very strong desire to help children embrace their ability to pick up skills at a fast pace and one day become the best version of themselves. I truly believe that how you treat children can define who they become as young individuals and ultimately adults. I see that every time I interact with a child for a long period of time. That is why I find it important to always speak to a child at their level and never talk down to them. I learned that it is much more effective because they will feel more comfortable rather than scared. It brings both joy and a warm feeling to my heart that I was lucky enough to be a part of the most crucial parts of their development.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

A mom of happy and healthy children. I spent many years dedicating my life and career to those children who I was lucky enough to meet and provide a positive environment to. I want to instill those same values that I have learned throughout the years to my own children. I also hope to have a future career in costume designing.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

I love activities such as coloring, painting, sensory play, reading, and STEM activities that includes magic milk, rainbow paper.
