About me

I am born and raised in South Carolina by an absolute treasure of a single mother who showed me an incredible example of how to rear a child. I have always loved to sing, dance, and play dress-up! I did classical ballet for 11 years and love to use the art of dance to stay active. I received my B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2019 with honors: magna cum laude. Recently relocated to Brooklyn from the Virgin Islands, where there was very little need for childcare professionals, and I am so excited to be here and to join a new family!
I have 13+ years of experience in childcare, including three recent full-time house manager/nanny positions with esteemed responsibilities. In addition to this, I have 9+ years of service industry experience, which accounts for all gaps present in my childcare resume. Having cared for children from 6 months – 12 years, I feel comfortable with any age group, multiples, and siblings with age gaps. My household duties have included: meal prep, grocery receiving, cleaning dishes, taking the trash out, pet care, laundry, picking up after children, and general sanitation. Child-centered duties have included: bottle preparation/feeding, transitioning to solid foods, diaper changing, potty training, bathing, school preparation/drop-off/pick-up, virtual school/therapy facilitation, strict schedule adherence, and designing development-advancing activities. I have experience teaching lessons in science, math, English, culture, and art. With my good driving record and working vehicle, I am comfortable transporting children. My adult/child/infant CPR and first aid certification are freshly updated, I am fully vaccinated and boosted, and extremely safety conscious! Supervising children in the water is something I have a variety of experience in and I am a strong swimmer.
If you are looking for an enthusiastic, driven caregiver you have come to the right place. I strive to give my families the most nurturing, respectful, and intentional atmosphere in the home, while also bringing a creative, inspired element. One of my favorite perks of the job is getting to encourage children to blossom into themselves creatively, emotionally, and independently. A highly artistic individual, I thrive in positions where I can plan exciting curriculums and activities for children to learn by doing. Scheduling field trips and playdates to enrich their lives is a high priority. I treat the kids I care for with respect and honor their feelings to create the most loving/supportive environment I can.

In 5 years, I hope to be...

Wherever in the world, I wind up, I hope to be living a fulfilled life that is comfortable and artful. I'm currently in a position where I am taking opportunities as they come, so this may look like continuing on with full-time child care or perhaps pursuing a purely artistic career. I know that as long as I love what I do I will be happy, so I am taking things one step at a time.

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...

The greatest joy I glean from professional childcare is the opportunity to guide children in the exploration of who they are through art, play, and curated learning experiences. Planning field trips and activities that can give children hands-on learning experience is a passion of mine; especially as their specific interests become clear and I can assist in cultivating those interests. Introducing a well-rounded lifestyle to the children I am charged with is important. I am a spry and high-energy nanny who prioritizes both physically and imaginatively active play, getting those growing bodies outside and moving as much as possible. I am devoted to keeping up with the intellectual development of the children under my care and to continually motivating them to learn through both play and formal study.
