About me
I grew up in suburban Massachusetts, surrounded by the history and natural beauty of New England. My older sister and I were raised in a family of artists and were encouraged to pursue creative outlets, including drawing, painting, and ballet. In high school, I developed an interest in volunteer work, which led me to pursue a degree in psychology from Pace University in New York City. My plan was to get my masters in social work, in order to help children as a clinical social worker. While I take a break from my studies, I’ve found nannying to be the perfect on-the-job training when it comes to helping children of all ages and abilities!
I started babysitting in high school, looking after two brothers. I learned a lot then–from homework help to creating obstacle courses, I did it all with a great deal of patience and mediation! After high school, I spent several summers working as a camp counselor at a counseling center for children with autism. There, I learned a great deal from the social workers at the center, where we worked together to help children overcome daily obstacles, and also just have fun in a summer camp setting.
Once I moved to the city for college, I started working as an occasional babysitter for a few different families. In this role, I started to become familiar with the particular needs of city kids–whether it be navigating playground politics or the subway. I later moved on to nanny for two sisters, ages 6 and 10 at the time, where I was able to use my own experience with my sister to overcome the many challenges that come with sibling rivalries. In my most recent role, I nannied for one girl from the ages of 3 to 6, helping with everything from getting her to eat vegetables, to get her to bed for the first time without her parents!
I’ve always held an interest in child psychology, and the idea that I can have a positive impact on a child’s development is so exciting to me! I hope to continue to help young children grow and change into the people they will one day become, whether as a nanny or eventually a social worker. As long as I can create a safe environment for children to express themselves, I know I’m on the right path!

Activities & skills I love to teach & share with children...
Baking and arts and crafts are just some of the skills I like to share with children! To be more specific- I find baking to be a great way to get children involved in the food they eat- and a great demonstration of patience and positive reinforcement (who doesn’t love hard work to be rewarded with a banana muffin right out of the oven!). I find making the right creative outlet for each child to be so important- you can learn a lot about what is going on in a child’s mind from the paintings or drawings the make, or even what they build with magnatiles! I’m always looking for ways to mix fun and personal expression in a safe and comfortable environment.
