About me

I grew up in Dakar Senegal with 3 siblings. Throughout my childhood, I enjoyed games, jump roping, reading, and spending a lot of time with my family. I migrated to America in 2000 and ever since then I’ve been doing small jobs such as babysitting and retail because I didn’t have a college degree. I worked in retail for a while, however, throughout my time doing small babysitting jobs I found I enjoyed myself a lot more than I did with retail jobs. I narrowed my scope of jobs to babysitting around 2007 and I started actively looking for babysitting jobs. My first long-term nanny job was in 2013.
I began professionally working as a nanny in 2013. I worked with two children with them being one and five and I worked with them until they were two and seven. I was responsible
for taking them to the park, museum, play dates, and doctors' appointments. I was also in charge of feeding them, bathing them, playing games with them such as legos, and helping the baby learn to walk and talk. My next job began in 2015 with a child who was two years old. I was in charge of caring for the baby by establishing routines such as feeding time and nap time. I also took him to doctor appointments and to the park. During my most recent job, I worked with two kids a newborn and an eight-year-old. I picked up the eldest from school, helped with homework, played with him, and took him to the park and to various other places such as the ice skating rink. For the newborn I was in charge of feeding and bathing, spending time with him during tummy time, and accompanying him to his doctor's appointments. Furthermore, I am CPR and First aid certified.
I think of myself as a dedicated and persistent person. When it comes to my job I strive to do my best to ensure the child is receiving proper care. I enjoy learning new things and that is what I find endearing about children. Children are always intent on learning new things and I am able to connect with them on that level because there is so much the world has to offer and a lot more to learn. Children are important for the future so the people they have in their lives while their young play a huge role in their development which is why I strive to be a good role model. I am valued by families for my warmth, dedication, and good judgment. I choose to carry these traits in childcare and hope to leave a positive impact on the children I work with.
