About me

Hi! My name is Maddie and I have lived in New York City for almost 4 years, after moving here from the Bay Area in late 2018. I grew up being really active, participating in swim team, soccer, and basketball, as well as dance and local theater productions. When I was 13, I became a junior coach on my swim team and instantly loved working with children. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor's degree in Theater Performance in 2016. After graduation, I moved back to the Bay Area and began teaching as a kindergarten aide at Burton Valley Elementary School. I also started an apprenticeship with Bay Area Children's Theater where I assistant-directed and music-directed a variety of musicals (including Aladdin and All Shook Up) for elementary and middle school-aged children. During that apprenticeship, I was also a company understudy for their traveling theater company, and performed in The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Elephant and Piggie, Judy Moody, and more!
I have also been babysitting for 10+ years and most recently was a full-time nanny for 2 kids in Brooklyn, ages 9 and 10. I am a lead teaching artist at Inside Broadway, a non-profit theater company that brings the magic of Broadway to schools all around New York City. I have 13 years of classical piano training and love to help with music lessons, homework, etc. Formerly I was a swim coach and lifeguard for 10 years, and am first aid and CPR certified. I also grew up playing sports like basketball and soccer and love being active. If this seems like a good fit, then I can't wait to meet you!
