About me

My name is Rosa Toribio, I grew up on a beautiful Island in Dom. Rep. as an only child. I enjoy creative playing, volleyball, and love being a majorette. I moved to the U.S and received a B.A. in Communication Arts. Ever since I can remember I have loved spending time caring for children. I enjoy face-to-face communication, so I started babysitting at the age of 14 providing children with that one-on-one time, that I had as an only child.

Since moving to New York shortly after graduating I became a Teacher’s Assistant for Early Intervention age 2 at Nyack New York. While there my responsibilities were to assistant the teacher with daily routines and meet the needs of the children in a 1-1 setting. This included feeding, changing of diapers, potty training, circle time, supervised playtime and music. After working as a Teacher’s Assistant for a year I transitioned into being a Director of Learning Bridges(remote learning). This included supervising Staff, and Children of Essential Workers. The program was geared towards ages 5-12 and my job was to welcome the children, follow all safety protocols, set a warm environment for first time students, take attendance, coordinate lunch drop off, communicating with all parents, enrollments, staff meetings and managed 6 group leaders.

Currently I am working with a family who has an infant little girl and occasionally babysit for other families when in need of backup care and date night. However I’m in a position of flexibility. I have been caring for children for over 15+ years with CPR Cert and basic First Aid. I truly love working with young kids. My goal is to approach each child as an individual I can help grow, teach and develop alongside of their parents. Nothing makes me happier than running into children I used to babysit and seeing how they have grown and blossomed. Although children are our future, I believe in the impact of the children in their now.
