About me
I was born and raised in Guyana. I moved to New York in 2000. I have six siblings. I was the eldest daughter and took on a leadership position by helping my mother with household chores including cooking, cleaning, etc. As a child, I enjoyed playing outside. I graduated high school in Guyana but I did not go to college. Since graduation, I have been a housewife. My family consists of me, my husband, and my daughter. All of this ties into my work as a nanny because I love outdoor activities and taking responsibility for taking care of kids because of my many siblings.
I was a housekeeper for 6 years. I traveled with families to a lot of places including Florida, the Bahamas, and Canada. I have worked with children for over 25 years. My job responsibilities include meal prep, after-school activities, helping with homework, etc. I have watched children while parents were out on date nights, on the weekends, and overtime. My child-related certifications are CPR and baby training.
I love to interact with children, read stories to them, play with them, draw, color, etc. What motivates me to pursue child-related work is being able to help kids grow up well in life. Teaching respect, manners, and discipline are crucial as children grow up and I want to help them along the way.
