About me

Hello! My name is Maddie. I am from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I was born in LA because my father worked in Hollywood, so acting is in my blood! I have a big family of 6 other siblings. As a child, I was always playing with them, but I also loved helping my mother around the house and going to the grocery store with her, ha! I did basketball and gymnastics as well.
I have a B.A. in Art History from Temple University. After I graduated in 2015 I worked as a nanny for a 1-year-old boy, while also working at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We'd have lunch and dinner together, and in between, we would usually go to the park, a museum, or a baby movement class. I'd change diapers, prepare bottles, put him down for a nap, and read books.
In 2017 I moved to Spain to teach English in public schools. I was a teacher's assistant in Art, History, English, and Science classes. I loved helping the children work to speak to me in English. Even though I can speak Spanish, I had to pretend I didn't understand what they were saying to me so they were forced to practice their English! I'd happily speak to your children in Spanish.
In 2018 I au-paired in the south of Spain with two lovely, spunky girls (3&5). We'd go to the beach or the pool. The littlest couldn't swim, so we were in the water together a lot. I helped the parents teach her how to swim, which was still a work in progress when I left. I was a lifeguard for three years, so I am a strong swimmer.
In 2020 I moved back to Philadelphia and began to work for a lovely family of two boys (unborn&2 when I started, then 1&4 when I left) while also acting at a theater in the city. On top of school pick-ups, I organized their home, including storage of old clothes and toys, preparing grocery lists, and cooking dinner and healthy snacks for the children.
I love the balance nannying creates in my life. I feel like a well-rounded individual going between my creative work and my work as a nanny- which is also very creative! To me, open communication is important in all aspects of this profession. I am reliable, trustworthy, organized, and caring, and I would love to work for a family who is all of those things as well.
